The dwellers I send out to the wasteland all have maxed SPECIALs as well and END +5 gear. They typically max out their inventory right around 3 days of exploring and so return to the vault then. I know legendary recipes typically won’t start showing up until after day 3.


You can, however, send dwellers to the wasteland simply by dragging them to the area outside the vault door, just like any other room. Upon doing this, you can later tap the area outside of the vault door to check the progress of the dweller you have released.


5/8/2017  · May 9, 2017 @ 2:40am If you have just started and only have like six dwellers or so, lowest level, no weapons or meds, you can still send them out to gather stuff. Start with one, drag him to the top left corner of your screen, and click Explore . You can keep an eye on him by clicking the Wasteland in the top left.

Just a little FYI for anyone struggling with getting gear for your vault dwellers I have had lots of success with the following method. I have 3 dwellers that were all Lvl 15-20 and I equipped them with Wasteland Gear (increases Endurance) and good weapons (anywhere from 10-20 dmg) and send them out with 3 each of stimpacks and radaway.
